So, hello. I know, I know. I haven't blogged since forever, but I can explain.
I'm currently away on a holiday and I had no time to blog, and even if I did have time, there'd be no internet connection.
So there.
Anyway, I really don't want to talk about my trip because its been about 11 days so far, two more days till I fly home again, super excited about that. INTERNET, I MISS YOU. There're so many things to talk about my hands would be sore if I typed everything out, and you guys would be dead bored reading what I typed. However I will explain the reason why I headed off for this trip. As you know, I'm Chinese and we have this thing called Chinese New Year. Otherwise known as the Lunar New Year. It's basically like the New Year for non- Chinese (that sounded racist), except we like follow the moon or something? I don't know.
So, I went on this trip for Chinese New Year. Yay. And honestly, it can get a bit boring out here in the wilderness. Jk.
I'm not in the wilderness, really. I'm just somewhere where it's hard to get wifi.
Anyway, it was the first day of CNY yesterday and at my uncle's house (the place where my family's bunking in) we had tons of visitors. Most of them were my mom's cousins and aunties and uncles and whatnot. And I spent most of my time upstairs because I can't speak mandarin, which meant I couldn't socialize. Sad, really. But on the plus side, I got Ang Pows! Giving out Ang Pows is basically a tradition where a married couple have to give single people money, in red packets. Ang Pows are also occasionally referred to as Hong Baos, meaning 'Red Packet' or something like that. Honestly, I really love this tradition, because it means me being rich for a limited amount of time before I spend everything on stuff I "need".
Today is the second day of CNY, I, personally have no idea about how many days of CNY there are supposed to be. But as long as the Ang Pows keep coming in, I'm cool with it. xD
Anyway, it's been non stop feasting for the past few days, because, to tell you the truth, my Aunt has amazing skills in cooking. I won't elaborate on that, I'd feel the desperate need to eat if I do, and I honestly don't. (want to eat, that is.)
I also find it hard to believe that I have cousins as old as 40+. It's scary to be honest with you. And I'm like, 13! But I still get Ang Pows, so it's all good.
And one more thing, my nieces and nephews are so cute I can't even.
Internet is really slow here.
PS. I'm going to get rid of the 'KTHXBYE' thing I always say at the end of each post. It's getting old.
