Hey guys! So, I've just been recently given an assignment to write a journal in the perspective of a disabled person. (In my case, a thumbless person.) And I thought that I'd like to share it with you guys. So, here we go!
Hello Journal,
Today was HORRIBLE! Now with my thumb gone, every thing I try to do is so horribly complicated! Even as I type this, I'm having lot's of trouble trying to press the 'Shift' key to make a capital letter. (Since I'm right handed, I usually do everything on the right side on the keyboard, and for crying out loud, the thumb on my right hand is gone!)
Oh, and can you imagine eating a burger without your thumb? It is near impossible I tell you. I had to use only my left hand to hold this huge clump of flattened meat sandwiched between two slices of buns and mounds of lettuce. Oh, and one more thing. I can't write. I now have to officially become a left hander or write with my feet or something. DREADFUL I tell you, dreadful.
Why, oh ,why did I have to stick my thumb into that blender?!!?!
And why, oh, why did I not treasure my precious thumb that once lived on the side of my right hand? I have no idea how I am going to live now. I'm THUMBLESS!
Thanks for sticking with me,
Faith.
