You see, I just attended two more conferences led again by Sarah and Grace Mally. Anyway, these two conferences were called Strong For The Lord and Radiant Purity. They weren't so bad.
Friday: Strong In The Lord
I had to wake up really early. (Is 7:41 AM early? Hmm..) It was the first day of the two conferences. I got dressed in a blue skirt and white blouse. I suppose I had gotten used to the idea of wearing skirts.
After that, I packed some stuff in my bag for the conference. A book, a notebook, my pencil case, water. And not to forget, Joshua's (Jonathan's brother) cap. You see, I forgot to explain (For the full story, see 'If We Dissolved Without A Trace, Would The Real World Even Care (continued)' and look under Saturday) That while hanging out in Jonathan's hostel, I found Josh's cap and I had to return it. After packing up, I went downstairs and everyone climbed into the car. I'm not sure if I slept all the way or listened to my iPod. (to it's music. Not it's instructions. And I'm pretty sure iPods don't give instructions) Either way, we got there after about 20 minutes...? I forget. I walked into the building and up the staircase. And I saw all the lovely leaders! It was like home. Except it wasn't. If you know what I mean. I suppose you don't. Moving on. When I saw the leaders (E.g. Miss Bekah, Miss Dani, Grace, Sarah, Miss Nickie etc) I went over and said 'hi' and they said "HEY! I'm so glad to see you! How are you?" etc. So it was nice. Anyway, I went to the registration table to get my name tag. After I got it, I noticed that the group I was in, was Moonbeams. (I don't know wether to be excited or not. Oh well.) So I put my bag at where my group was sitting and saw Aunty Jessica. (Jonathan's mom BTW) And I returned the cap to her. She was really happy. After I returned the cap, I walked downstairs to the concourse and passed by Jonathan. "Hi." He said. I responded also with a "Hi." And a smile. *wink* I'm not quite sure where I went... But Jonathan was staring at me. AGAIN. But he for some reason, he doesn't avert his gaze when I look at him. So It's like he's staring into my soul or something. GOSH that sounds creepy. MOVING ON.
Anyway, the conference started a few minutes later and I was so happy to find out that Eliza and Van were in the same group! More good news: Jolynn was leading it! OH THE JOY :D (no sarcasm here)
We started out with some worship, and then the lesson started. We The first lesson of the morning was... ARGH. I forget. But I know it was something to do with being strong for the Lord. Anyway, afte that lesson, we had small groups. We went downstairs to go into a room. I was quite happy that we got the room all to ourselves. We introduced ourselves. I can't quite remember how many people there actually were in the group, but some of the were very nice. Others were.. well.. quiet. We learned some things from Jolynn and soon after that, it was lunchtime! I exited the room at met my mom outside. We were going to this Indian place for lunch. And when we walked inside, it was packed! Horribly packed. It got really hard to order food. But I ordered food anyway. I left earlier than my family and walked back to the church. (It was only like a few shops away. No biggie.) I walked up the stairs and into the concourse/ lobby (I don't know what to call it.) And Jonathan was there playing with some dudes. I just kinda stood there watching the childish males chase each other. I went upstairs after I got bored. The conference continued throughout the day and I really learned a lot. And in the small groups, we made this cute flower-on-a-pen-thing with duct tape. Who knew it could end up being a pretty thing? After that small group, we went up to the sanctuary. Sarah Mally was going to do a chalk drawing. Now, what is a chalk drawing? Well, in Bright Lights, different people would come up to give testimonies while Sarah would draw a picture on an empty canvas using chalk. This picture would tell a story of it's own, and when you switched off the lights, something magical would happen. I made a video of Sarah drawing the picture and posted it on YouTube. But I'll share it here. After the beautiful drawing was completed, the conference ended. I think I also had a conversation with Jon after that. I forget.
Saturday: Radiant Purity
I woke up later today. Because I stayed up till 3 AM to make cards for the leaders. I was dead tired when I woke at 7-Something AM. I got dressed in a pair of jeans and a purple shirt. Then I walked downstairs. Sooner or later we were ready to go. I listened to Owl City all the way there. (love) Then we got there. I walked up to the concourse/lobby and then to the sanctuary. The conference had a already started and I was late. (Obviously.) I got my name tag and found out that the groups were different. We were now named after precious stones. My group was Rubies. And Jolynn was my leader again. :D When I sat down, Sarah had started sharing. The first lesson of the morning was Radiant Purity. She told us why purity is so important and other stuff related to the subject. After about an hour, it was time for small groups. Our room was a little small. But the members of the group this time were very nice. Oh, I was also really happy that Rinnah and Yasha were in the same group as I was. (FTW)
We introduced ourselves and I got to know some very nice people. After some discussions, we went back into the main hall. And Sarah taught us another lesson. The topic? How To Guard Your Heart. I featured this subject in my previous post. Go check that out. (And yes, its for girls and guys)
After that, we went for lunch. I had a roti canai from the same store. It was less packed. Good thing. Anyway, I headed back earlier than my family and went up to the concourse/lobby. This time, Jonathan and the dudes were chasing each other with rubber bands. But Jonathan stopped and said "Hey, Faith." I nodded. Then he added, "Hey, you know the cap you returned, it's not mine." And I was like "What? You mean I returned you a cap that didn't even belong to you? " but then he said "No.. I mean, the cap is Josh's not mine. You said the cap was mine." Then I was like. "Yeah, I thought it was yours. It looked like something you would wear." Then this dude came and chased Jonathan and he said "Bye, Faith." I nodded in a wise shifu way. The conference resumed after that and we learned some more useful things. In small groups we discussed more things and after more lessons and discussions, Sarah was going to do another chalk drawing. It really was very amazing. And after that, the conference and everything else, ended. Remember the cards I made? I was going to give them now. I came to Miss Dani first and she was like "OHH! Thank you!" And she gave me a hug. Then I gave it to Miss Bekah and she said "AWW thank you so much! Come let's take a picture." Then I gave my card to Miss Nickie and she said "Thank You!". Then I came to Grace and gave it to her. And she said. "Aw! Thank you! The Lord bless you as you remain on your journey to pursue him!" And then I gave my card to Abigail. And she said "Thank you!!!!" And then lastly, I gave mine to Sarah. And she was like "Thank you so much! God bless you as you continue to praise and worship him!" I was really happy.
Afterwards, I walked to the stage to take a picture of the canvas. Did I mention that Jonathan was standing there watching me? Then he said "Are you gonna use that to replace your Captain America wallpaper?" and I was like "That sounds like a good idea. But, no. Oh, and for your information, its jellybeans now." and he was like "OOHH! That's even worse! Wait, can I see?" Then I showed him the picture I took of the canvas and showed the one in the dark, too. "Thats really nice." He said. "I know right." I replied. Then he had to go so I said bye and he said bye. My parents were conversing with other people, so I went to do some last minute acquaintance-ing. I met this girl called Rebekah and she was really nice. We talked a little bit here and there and I got her number. (sweet!) Soon, I had to go and that was the end of it all.
